I don’t know how we’re going to afford a new computer if Maggie keeps bringing home Family Guy DVDs from Target *grin*.

Fuckers.

However, in the meantime, Maggie and I decided that we’re going to take advantage of the AIT Bulk Sale and dig into savings a little bit to get a new dual 2GHz PowerMac G5 to replace her iBook. Now I won’t need to buy iLife ‘05, iWork ‘05, or Tiger. *grin* Would anybody out there be willing to lend me their Tiger disc so that I can try it out in the meantime, until the PowerMac arrives? I would be eternally grateful.

school

The only things I have left this semester are my jury (which I’m not worried about anymore after how well my lesson went Wednesday) and my piss-poor easy French final. I’m not going to like my grades this semester, especially since 3 credits of A I was counting on turned into 3 credits of B, but I should still have enough to push me that .01 of a grade point up so I’m at the magical 3.0.

I’m also somewhat miffed because my blank score paper and manuscript paper that I ordered just for the opera project didn’t get delivered today because no one was in the office. Oh well, I’ll get it on Monday, along with OS X 10.4, since AIT won’t have that until Monday either.

//edit: And say hello to Mr. Redundant.

hosting offering posted at 1:17 PM
uncategorized

Okay, now that I’ve gotten things figured out, I’ll open this up to a few people. I’m offering hosting on my account for whatever you might need it for. I have 2.4GB of storage and basically unlimited (120GB/mo) bandwidth; also, full PHP and MySQL. If you’re looking for a more reliable place than your home internet connection to store your webserver and/or you want to get off of LiveJournal/Crazylife/GreatestJournal/whatever, leave a comment here and I’ll get back to you.

Anything you put in your folder will not be accessible by other people; we’ll work out terms and limits when we talk. For the moment, I’m offering this for free; if you want a little more resources than I might be willing to advocate, I may ask that you pay me about $1/month toward the cost of the hosting.

/edit: I’ll probably allow 200MB of storage and 10GB/month bandwidth for free, and ask for money for anything on top of that.

Step one: Direction posted at 8:53 AM

Well, Kelly and I had our first real meeting today, and I got a pretty good taste of reality. As in, I was imagining us being at step five by now. But, that’s ok, because I’m committed to this however it goes.

Today, we set a direction for the story. It will probably have its basis in mythology of some sort, but definitely very modernized and made so people can relate their own lives and experiences to it.

I’m feeling good about this.

French project: check.
Mozart presentation: check
Jury music memorized: check

All that’s left this semester: painfully easy French final and jury.

Dead week posted at 5:17 AM
composing, school, work

Things on tap for my “dead” week:

Monday: The usual class-and-work-my-butt-off day.
Tuesday: Class as usual, then orchestra concert, then dress rehearsal for the Mozart lecture.
Wednesday: Class, lose my work hours to give Mozart presentation.
Thursday: Class, meet with Kelly and start figuring out the plot of our opera, meet with Dr. Munsen about getting back into education.
Friday: The other usual class-and-work-my-butt-off day.

Yes, I will most certainly be dead by the end of this week.

/edit: And at the time of this posting, the outside temperature is 37 degrees, wind chill 32. What happened to spring!?

I knew it!

Pleasantly Plump May Be OK

Experts agree that a good diet and exercise are important for health, but some question whether the multibillion-dollar diet industry has misled Americans about the health hazards of being a few pounds overweight.
