I just read yet another story about people dying in a car crash, who were not wearing seat belts.

I just don’t understand. Why is something so simple, that has such immense benefit, so hard? What on earth would possess somebody to NOT wear a seat belt when they’re driving or riding in a car?

I could be cynical and go the natural selection route, but I’m not in a cynical mood tonight.

In other news, I need a vacation.

Same thing that causes people to ride motorcycles without helmets, I guess. “Can’t happen to me,” convenience, etc.

    laziness?

A father of a certain friend of mine vehemently refuses to wear a seat belt precisely for the reason that it is government-mandated.

It’s a good thing the government doesn’t mandate you eat food and shelter your family, too…
