It’s a race against time and sleep as I try and type this out, but I’ll do my best to summarize now and elaborate later. First of all, if you’re not using Safari 3.1+, you are missing out. This theme was designed from the ground up for Safari. There are a lot of CSS2/CSS3 effects that only Safari currently implements, including (but not limited to) rounded corners and drop shadows on boxes, text shadows, and CSS transforms and transitions. Almost every effect you see is pure CSS, and the few that aren’t are courtesy of Prototype and Scriptaculous. If you want to see the site as it was meant to be seen, grab Safari from Apple’s website. I’ll put a more in-your-face warning up soon. Everything should still be legible in Firefox, but no guarantees beyond that.

In addition, you’ll be even closer to the intended display if you’re on a Mac, as the site uses the Helvetica Neue Ultralight font almost exclusively. It will still look decent with plain old Helvetica (which is what you’ll get if you’re looking at it on a PC), but you’ll miss some of the clean lines and the integration between font and design.

While things don’t look (or act) half bad as they are, the site should still be considered beta. I’ll be working to clean up a few things and add some new functionality, but the basics should be working. Click the bar to the left to expand the sidebar and get at the links and archive. Comments should also be working without issue.

Let me know if you’re using Safari and you happen to notice something acting weird. I did take the opportunity to upgrade Wordpress to 2.5.1, so there may be something I missed.
